Food Labeling Advisory

People are increasingly consuming processed and prepacked food products. People need to know the nutritional value of the prepacked food and drinks that they buy – their health benefits and risks. Safe food, nutrition, and profit should win together. Properly labelling food and drinks should provide useful information to the consumer to make healthier food and nutrition choices. The information on food and drink labels should be easy to understand and clear, to the ordinary person. For example, using local indicators that people are familiar with. information such as salt, sugar, calories, and fat (including saturated fat) contents as well as allergens should be specified and standardised by the regulator for the health of the public.

Our work in food labelling includes information provision, education, training advocacy, advisory, consultancy, and quality assurance services. We have the capacity to work with food and drugs regulators, food and drinks manufacturing companies, retailers, the hospitality industry, grantors, and other organisations working in this area.
