Strengthening Education and Health Collaboration for Measles Rubella Vaccine Introduction

Abuja, Nigeria — The advocacy team from the Centre for Well-Being and Integrated Nutrition Solutions (CWINS) paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Minister of Education, marking an important step toward stronger collaboration between Nigeria’s education and health sectors to protect every child.
During the visit, discussions focused on ways to empower schools as key partners in promoting health education, immunization awareness, and vaccine uptake among learners nationwide.
The Honourable Minister of Education commended CWINS for its leadership and reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to child health and safety. He pledged to:
- Participate in the upcoming Novel Children Dialogue
- Facilitate engagements with heads of education agencies, including UBEC, the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children, and other relevant MDAs, to integrate health and immunization awareness into the school system
This renewed partnership between the education and health sectors represents a significant milestone in ensuring that every Nigerian child is protected, informed, and healthy. Together, CWINS and the Ministry of Education are working to make schools not only centers of learning but also spaces where wellness and resilience thrive.
