Visit to NAPTAN Leadership on Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccine Sensitization
On October 4, 2025, a joint delegation from the Centre for Well-Being and Integrated Nutrition Solutions (C-WINS) and the Health Sector Reform Coalition (HSRC) convened with zonal leaders of the National Parent-Teacher Association of Nigeria (NAPTAN) to foster collaboration in preparation for the forthcoming national Measles-Rubella (MR) Vaccination Campaign.

He also mentioned that HSRC intends to provide further briefing to southern leaders through a sensitization webinar. Dr. Isah Y. Vatsa, C-WINS North-Central Consultant, elucidated the transmission pathways of measles and rubella, the associated complications, and the critical importance of the MR vaccine in safeguarding children’s health. He underscored the indispensable role of NAPTAN executives in endorsing the forthcoming campaign and addressed inquiries from participants in conjunction with the HSRC General Secretary. Dr. Vatsa characterized PTAs as a crucial conduit to parents and caregivers of school-age children eligible for vaccination—an element vital to the program’s success.
Mr. Ibrahim Yau Naboye, Acting Secretary, expressed his appreciation on behalf of NAPTAN for the initiative. He emphasized that healthy children contribute to safer and more conducive learning environments and assured NAPTAN’s comprehensive support, including the nationwide dissemination of accurate information regarding the MR vaccine.
